InI, the worldwide Rastafari Community, celebrate African Liberation Day today on May 25th 2025.
The R.N.S would like to use this opportunity to remind the Swiss government and corporations the following:
Statement African Libaration Day 25.5.2025
On this occasion we the Rastafari Nation Switzerland, a Rastafari Community living inSwitzerland, would like to refer to the situation in Africa. The movement towards emancipation of several African nations and their population, known in this country mainly from the headlines due to the events in Burkina Faso, should be a wakeup call for the Swiss government and the local industry and encourage them to act constructive and more resilient.
The R.N.S. stands for a free Africa and we expect even more that corporations and our government will treat African nations, their people and their right to self-determination with respect.
The shortcomings of the past may not be repeated and the role of Switzerland and the corporations based here must be processed transparently and completely.
In order to continue working with the African continent in the long term, Switzerland must name its crimes and bear the responsibility. Especially now, as a sign of solidarity with the African population who longs for a change and progress in Africa.
